Capture the Coast in Line and Wash

Sunday 26th April 2026, 10.00 – 4.00,
Beech Hill Memorial Hall, Wood Lane, Beech Hill, RG7 2BE

Ever wished you could bottle that holiday feeling in a painting or a sketch?
Join me for a friendly, hands-on workshop designed to turn your coastal travels into beautiful memories. Suitable for all levels, I will show you how to select the best parts of views so that you know how to ‘edit’ a scene and feel confident venturing out to sketch and paint what you see without feeling overwhelmed.
You will learn to simplify busy harbours using expressive ink lines and colourful watercolour washes – the perfect duo for capturing all kinds of coasts. This is a great way to try out these techniques before you travel so that you are ready to paint and sketch your next getaway with ease.

You will need to bring your own materials, but this workshop only requires minimal equipment – basically
just a small set of watercolours, waterproof pens, watercolour brush, A4 watercolour paper or sketchbook, pencil, eraser and a white posca pen. I will send out a list of my preferred kit when you purchase your ticket.

I teach all abilities – those that are already painting and would like to improve their skills and beginners that have just discovered their love of painting. Each workshop covers a specific subject in which I teach various techniques that you can transfer to other subjects in your art practice. You will be learning in a friendly environment in a small group (maximum of 10), so that you receive plenty of attention and learn at you own pace. If you would like to come along to any of them, please email me at art@elizabethbaldin.co.uk.

If you click the box below and become a subscriber (it’s completely free) your name will be added to my mailing list so that you will be the first to hear about any courses in 2025 and receive a discount if you decide you would like join me. You can unsubscribe at any time.
